Harris Aziz
Part I Architectural Assistant
Education
Part 1 – Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architecture. Taylors University, Subang Jaya, Malaysia.
Harris religiously designs with the fundamentals of function and purpose in mind. This is evident in the way he thinks, analyses and implements in his work from conception to realisation. His appreciation for Architecture comes from the very understanding of contextual and elemental issues and how it significantly impacts human’s psyche and behaviour. He is passionate in advancing his career by developing his skill sets and believes that this can only be achieved through internship in a practise. Joined OWMP International in October 2020, he looks forward on a positive note on this architectural journey with the aim to learn and develop to be a professional Architect one day.
As he proceeds to pursue his Master’s Degree in Architecture (Part 2), it is important for him to harness a variety of knowledge particularly in the Bruneian context so that it can be adapted and utilised in creating meaningful architecture. He also believes in employing sustainable and green architecture in his work as he sees the future success for Brunei in becoming one of the emerging countries in the implementation of green and sustainable technology.
He has gained comparable skills in technical drawing and 3D software such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Revit, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Enscape during his time at university and internship in Malaysia. Currently he is learning Blender for more complex designs as he does not rely on one particular software.
