Architect's Night

Institution of Survey (PUJA) Brunei Architect Division organised an Architect’s Night 2021 at Brunei Tennis Club in Berakas on Friday. Deputy Minister of Development Dato Seri Paduka Ar. Awang Haji Marzuki bin Haji Mohsin, a fellow member of PUJA Architect Division and advisor to the Architect Division Committee, attended the event.

Vice President and Chairman of PUJA Architect Division, Ar. Zul’Amali bin Dato Paduka Haji Idris gave opening remarks and introduced the committee members. The evening also saw the launching of MOA Version 1.0 of the ‘Conditions of Appointment of Architect’s Services and Mode of Payment. This brings the Institute one step closer to aligning with other institute of Architects, Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) – Malaysian Institute of Architects and Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

The evening’s highlights included a webinar presentation on siphonic roof drainage by Goh Chun Hee of Fast Flow, Malaysia and promoted by local agent Welflex Engineering Sdn Bhd. The system allows for design using smaller diameter pipes and fewer number of rainwater downpipes allowing horizontal and fast flowing rainwater to discharge points.

Showcasing one of PUJA (B) activities was the project on activities was the project on ‘Creating a Community Centre at Kampong Bolkiah B’, partnered with Afifah Abdullah from PUJA (B) young Architects representative.The event continued with talking points for a roundtable meeting of Brunei Architects to be held next month.The discussion were followed by dinner and interaction between Architects.
